My great friend Lucy Swift read my plight about abandoning my last tomatoes and leaving them out in the cold and she came to their rescue by sending me this recipe for green tomato chutney. Her actual words were ‘I’ve made it before and it’s lovely!’ ‘And great for Xmas presents!’. So I went and picked the last tomatoes and I will make it this weekend. Thank you Lucy.

23 October — 15 small / 3 medium / 7 long = 25
It looks like my tomato days are over for 2010, these are my last ones, I have about another 50 still on the plants but they are suffering from the extreme weather.
I feel quite sad. But looking on the bright side I can start all over again next year.
