I have been asked to contribute to the April Font Night on April Fool’s day at the Design Museum so I better be careful! Looks like it is going to be a fun night!
Instead of soaking up the sun I spent the weekend making my flyer, Tony Brook and Bruno Maag have also done one, plus more by other contributors on the way.

Last night was the launch of the Nokia Pure font designed by Dalton Maag. I and a bunch of other designers were asked to design and make a poster that incorporated the new PURE font. After a thorough briefing with Nokia. I knew the space the exhibition was to be held in the Tramshed, Rivington Street and I just did not feel I wanted to do a poster. Then it just hit me — a big space, the brief to use the Nokia Font and a Finnish Company. Why not do one of my stool installations with 20 X ‘PURE’ Alvar Alto 60 stools, a classic Finnish design icon, using the new ‘PURE’ Nokia font and my play on the word ‘PURE’.
Group of the poster designers: Alex Trouchet, Bond, Build, Cartlidge Levene, DesignStudio, HelloVon, Nokia Design, Non-Format, North, Practise, Morag Myerscough, Value & Service & Z.A.K
We have just been informed from Design Studio that The British Dyslexia Association has already made £3,040 from sales at the event. We want to raise as much money as possible, so if you fancy buying one of the pieces here is the link. I am very excited 9 of my stools have already been sold, as you can see from the rest of the blog they are good value as they are genuine white lacquered Artek 60 stools.

Pete Mayhew from AHMM took these pics for me, very strange experience not being able to over see the work going up and but so far looking good. Very excited to see the school completed.

Claire and I went out to the Graphic Design Museum, Breda to discuss a Supergroup project with them. On the way to the museum through the town we past bunny rabbits freely running in the park, very cute! A great museum with fantastic exhibition spaces. The current exhibition is ‘Connecting the Past and the Future’ (image above), no small captions just very accessible large text on the wall explaining each piece, I found it did make me read everything. I do love seeing type on walls! We were very well looked after and we think they liked us and we will be back soon.
