I always plan to choose my clothes carefully when I travel, but when the time comes to pack I just throw everything in in a hurry and then sit on the case to close it. I had to repack and come back to the UK during may stay in San Francisco. So I thought I would carefully roll my clothes (I recall an old boyfriend’s mum always packed his case that way!) so I thought I would try it. The more I rolled, the more I saw how close my choice of colours and patterns are the same as my work. I knew I liked blocked colours and geometric patterns in my clothes but this was still a revelation to me, and now it has got me thinking about an indepth study. After an impromptu photoshoot in my hotel room I thought it was the best image to sum up my talk at We Can Create, Auckland.
